Message From Pastor

My challenge as you read the text and read the message, is for you to re-commitment, as you obediently adhere to God's call for your life, to be in worship regularly. This life of regular worship as you give thanks, offer praise and receive His gifts.
Morning Has Broken: A Reflection on Resurrection

As dawn breaks, there's a stark contrast between overcast mornings and the brilliant sun rising at the beach or along Heckscher Parkway. This vivid imagery parallels the distinct narratives of the resurrection in the Gospels of Matthew, Mark, and Luke. While Mark presents a gray dawn with no appearance of Jesus, Matthew shines brightly, depicting a glorious morning of resurrection.

In Matthew, we read:  “Now after the Sabbath, toward the dawn of the first day of the week, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary went to see the tomb. And behold, there was a great earthquake… His appearance was like lightning, and his clothing white as snow.”

The clarity and excitement of this moment highlight the reality of Easter: Christ is Risen! He Is Risen Indeed! Alleluia!

In contrast to the fear of the guards, who become like dead men at the angel’s arrival, the women respond with joy and purpose. Their love and faith drive them to seek Jesus, leading to a transformative encounter. This raises an important question: Are you here out of duty or love?

If you’ve come out of obligation, you might not fully grasp the significance of this day. Even those filled with faith can feel as if Jesus is absent, weighed down by fear and despair. But let’s be clear: how you enter matters less than how you leave.

Jesus is alive! This means your fears are overcome, sins forgiven, and death is temporary. As the women acted on the angel’s word before seeing the risen Christ, we too are called to share the good news.

I as your pastor, stand today as a messenger of hope: **Jesus is alive!** This promise brings transformative power, inviting you to live confidently and freely.

As we celebrate this Easter, embrace the joy of the resurrection. Close your eyes and let the peace of Christ fill you.

Christ is Risen! He Is Risen Indeed! Alleluia!

Amen.
